Every time I watch the Life of Brian, and I see this scene, I laugh so hard I cry:
It wasn't until many years later, that I realized the part where Brian's mom reveals that his biological father was a centurion ("Promised me the known world, he did!"), that I realized it resembled Celsus' claim that Jesus was the bastard son of one Pandira.
Anyone else ever notice this?

I love the rock salesman myself. "Give me a pack of gravel w/that."
I love that scene! It's possibly the funniest part of the whole movie!
My favorite is the bit where they stone the Pharasee for saying 'Jehovah'
ROTFL!
Hi Mikayla. Neat nick.
My favorite is when the old man says, "Worse? Worse? How could it get any worse?" & starts singing "Jehovah, jehovah!"
Thanks for the Celus/Pandira reference, didn't see it.
There is sooo much within that clip as there is in the whole movie. For atheists it has to be the best movie ever made:
The adoration, the 3 wise men,the ex-leper, the People's Front of Judean vs. the Judean Peoples Front, "what did Rome ever do for us", "He has given us a Shoe!" I just can't pick a favourite. remy

It's got my vote as best comedy flick ever made. The Holy Grail is up there in the top 10.
"There's no pleasing some people!"
"That's what Jesus said, sir!"
I'm ashamed that I have never seen the movie 'life of Brain'! I have seen almost all of Monty Python movies! How could I have never heard of it till now???
BTW, abolutely too funny I am going to rent the movie ASAP.
