I’ve signed up for a blogging memorial to the victims of 9/11 here. Just checked, there are approximately 2511 unassigned victims (brrhhh! Gives me the heebie-jeebies to put it like that!).
Take pen in hand, and raise your voices in lament.
Never forget. Never forgive.
Addendum: I was in error - it turns out that when I signed up, they were reassigning people to an extra blogger - Scott Rivette of woodleyyak will also be doing a tribute to Jane Ellen Baeszler as well.

All the spots were filled at least two weeks ago.
I don't think you are checking on the right page. All victims have been assigned.
OK, I just checked. They are allowing repeats. They must have had overflow and decided that they could allow for a second version.
But all victims will have at least one blogger write about them.....unless they forget, or don't fulfill their obligation.

I don't know how I could have missed that.
OT, check this video out.
Back on topic, I am sure you are familiar with Raving Atheists. I took a lot of heat for stating I'm doing a tribute.
Check this thread out.

I don't frequent that place anymore. I think most of them are just plain nuts.
You probably could've left out the moonbat crack.
Jesus, what a bunch of self-centered maroons there.
"Those who do not learn from history..." etc.
KA...Thanks for posting about this site; I had forgotten to bookmark it for Monday. I didn't volunteer to write about anyone; the loss of my friends is still too painful. I will have a post up on Monday. It's been very hard to write it.

Just do your best, dear.
If the pain's too much, don't worry about it. Don't harm yourself.
I don't see what you have against members there... some of them seem pretty correct about the situation. Especially Metman07's post about supporting a country just because it's a haven for followers of a religion, and his point about Judaism being just as big of a threat to secularism as the other religions.
I don't agree there should be this much focus on 9/11. People die every day, for causes just as pointless and stupid. It's a fact of life. To use it for a political agenda, or anything else it's been/are being used for, is wrong.
We'll all be stronger for it if we just accept that there's nothing we can do about it, and move on.

I don't like how some of them handle themselves. For rationalists, they handle themselves irrationally. For another thing, I think most of them are full of shit.

Well, we're not supporting Israel for 1 thing. That's simplistic reductionism. It's a democracy, it's the only stabilizing country in the region, it's the only ally we have over there, the only reason it's a haven of any sort is because of some the horrible shit done to Jews. It's NOT a theocracy.
Israel is 25.6% secular, BTW.

It was a defining moment in history, epitomized by the mass slaughter of innocent people. Don't marginalize it. We as a nation haven't recovered from it, economically, emotionally, politically.
A lament for our dead is 1 of the many things that distinguish us from the other animals.
Not to mention BEAJ's stunning little gem of "fuck Arabs.".
I'm the 1st to admit he gets a little carried away, but he links to & talks to Arabs. He's got a problem w/radical extremists. So do I.
