Perhaps the prettiest blogger around, Too Many Tribbles, has tagged me for the Five Things About Me meme. As I consider myself perhaps one of the most sharing atheists in the blogosphere (hey, who doesn't like to prattle on and on about themselves?), I have to really search my noggin for something I haven't already told y'all. Lessee:
- I have a grand total of 14 awards from martial arts tournaments I participated in, from 2004-2005 (11 medals, gold silver and bronze, and 3 plaques),
- I'm a certified Tai Chi Sifu (teacher),
- I love the feel of silk against my skin (hey, when I first started competing, I thought I'd look silly in a silk uniform, but the decadent sensation is addictive),
- I tell alternately awful, stupid, corny jokes, but I tell them so well, most people laugh anyways, and
- I find women with accents very...attractive.
For the next five, I duly nominate: Aaron Kinney at Kill the Afterlife, Bacon Eating Atheist Jew, Aviaa at Amanda's Irreverent Musings, Mesoforte at An Eye at the Past, and Stardust at Stardust Musings and Thoughts for the Freethinker.

I'll get to it by tomorrow night or the next morning. I want to keep my meme up there for a little while longer. The post took me almost 2 hours to do.
Well now, I am going to have to think about this if I can only choose five things. hmmmm
That's cool about your martial arts awards and that you are a certified Tai Chi Sifu.
I meant to write "Tai Chi Sifu teacher" ...I will have to look that up. My son studied Tae kwon do for awhile, is it similar?

Hey, no big rush. I got popped w/it on (Friday? I think). You got your own thing going. I follow.

Sifu translated means teacher. It's actually a title of respect, not necessarily for MA folks only. It's also non-gender: if you & I were in a teacher-student relationship, 1 would call the other 'sifu', regardless of the subject matter.
My son studied Tae kwon do for awhile, is it similar?
Only that they're both MA (martial arts). TKD is Korean, & a lot harder on the muscles & bones. TC (tai chi) is that softer, subtler practice. You do it (mostly) in slo-mo.
TC is more of a mind/body discipline (tho, as you grow older in any MA, EVERYTHING becomes more mind/body).

Oh come on KA, you have to have some kind of juicy something we didnt know about you??? You could have made something up for us to gossip about...maybe an evil atheist deed for the christians to gossip about. lol
Amy
Amy: Juicy? Oh my. I tend to be rather...private about that sorta thing. I can tell you this though: my last girlfriend didn't know what an orgasm was. While she was married, she'd tell her sisters, 'Sex is hell.' After we got together, her opinion completely changed. It became 'wonderful!'
There. Ya happy now? ;)
Hi Amy.
Yeah, I know it was bit much, but you asked for juicy, you got juicy.
Americans are extremely sexually oppress especially the women.
Yeah, those weird Victorian/Puritanical mores still have WAY too much say in our lives. I heard about that movie, 'This Movie Not Yet Rated', it's about how the censors let violence swing on by, but they have a REAL bug up their asses about sex.
I think sexual repression really colors our perceptions far too much.
Heh heh heh. You both said "Juicy" when talking about sex :)
Well, yeah, it's 'juicy', also 'messy' (chorus of 'slip slidin' away').
I could start equating it w/a water slide, but I don't know if anyone'd appreciate the simile.
I did it. Finally. ;P
